CANADIAN MILITARY PRINCIPLES OF LEADERSHIP
Leadership for this soldier comes not only from the paper it is written on, but from the soldiers who carry them for us, until we are able to carry this huge load ourselves. What is more intriguing, they know before we, when that time has come.
True leadership is not selfish
It is not confusing,
It is not dishonest,
It is not just for one person;
It is not just for one purpose.
It is born, and then mastered.
It is selfless
It is calm
It is not meant to be perfect
It is trust
It saves lives
It is a magnitude of responsibilities
It is earned
It is having to call it as you see it,
For in wartime it can kill, and it does.
You see troops, great leaders understand,
Your life is in their hands,
They lead on principle,
Hoping to keep you safe.
Their mere presence
It is for the greater good,
And give their life for the troops they would
