I USED TO HAVE ONE ONCE

I used to have one once.
It was bloody big one as well.
Grand and spectacular in fact
It impressed everyone it did.

I used to walk tall and proud –
Knowing that I had it.
I used to occupy myself with it daily;
Sometimes for a few moments –
Sometimes for an hour.

Oh what lovely fun that was
But as I got older it shrank;
Smaller and smaller and smaller still.
I used to amuse myself with it less often
And today when I tried to find it
It was completely gone.

I stared into my mirror,
Through empty eyes.
My grand dream had left me.
Bugger!
