ALL HALLOWS EVE

It’s fast approaching All Hallows Eve,
when demons dance and fiends deceive.
Banshees delight with haunting moans
the dead expose their rotting bones.
Rising from their tombs at twilight,
the undead shall be re-born tonight.
As they claw through sod with bony fingers,
whilst the opaque fog chillingly lingers.
Goblins, ghouls, and ghastly creatures –
spring alive with ghastly features.
Engaged on stalking in the night,
to scare mere mortals is their delight.
Now midnight does soon approach,
and the malevolent spirits start to encroach.
Creaking floors and rattling shackles,
hideous witches screech ghastly cackles.
Watch them fly by in the moons gloom-
shadowy figures on a wooden broom.
There off to menace poor gullible souls
with their potions fashioned in crucibles.
So as you loll safe in your room,
as protection from impending doom –
Place your head under your sheet;
it’ll soon be dawn. Trick or treat…
