WE PROUDLY STAND

Filled with pride, I stand
and behold the splendor of Old Glory
billowed with the winds of history
and the birth she represents.

Hearts swell and eye’s shed tears
of sadness and joy,
while we ponder the precious
blood poured on battlefields,
so we can live free in this bountiful land.

The price was high, pain and heartache endured,
by families and friends of heroic veterans
whose lives were exchanged
for the freedom we celebrate today.
