fight overseas
far from family,
to free people from
dictators bent on ruling people
by fear and threat of death;
knowing being Soldiers
their lives too
can pass in an instant.
Brave Souls who endure
rough terrain
up and down mountains,
jungles, deserts in
all types of weather;
extreme hot or cold,
wet or dry.
People with caring eyes
watch loved ones depart,
not knowing how or when
they'll return.
