I DREW A PICTURE IN MY MIND

Far in the reaches of my wit, a notion there did seep
I drew a picture in my mind – a necessity to keep
Oh pendulum of life, how persistently do you sweep
Thoughtfully with time; my willingness to sleep

In Elysium, a centurion stands silent – at the gate
Watchfully in place, oh; does he wait
Winds whisper – a fateful future date
Self-assured – is he, that no one; has yet been late.

We have not spoken; that I hope to know
No telling what he’s heard or visibly did show
Oh, hardening heart – an aloof festering foe
Exacerbated, by the affable humble sparrow

Winter’s chill freezes a devastating blunder
Echoing in the canyon, I hear displeasure in the thunder
That in the end, he’d consider to understand or wonder
How a pitiful spirit, could not thwart from going under

Whimsical in the spring, a white lily flowered silently
In the mountains, I stumbled falling upon my knee
Suspend all recollections, as I prepared myself to see
If what I drew in my mind, indeed was known to me
