Artist’s Note: This drawing, done in graphite, was actually my first attempt at doing anything that related to my war memories. As it would become a common theme in my later works, this drawing is that of a medic who seems a bit overwhelmed by the things going on around him. Although these adrenaline filled moments were like a living hell, it was this feeling that could never be fully replicated after Vietnam, although it was always sought in future occupations.
