FROZEN HEAT

Bernie “Doc” Duff: Incoming

Artist’s Note: I’m attaching yet another painting, this one called, “Frozen Heat” It is a painting of two guys who endured the trauma of incoming shells in Vietnam, only to be haunted by those same traumas later in life, in the form of flashbacks, or nightmares. While many who have NOT served in areas of combat may think that war is glory-filled, many more of us who HAVE walked that walk believe otherwise.

There is never a winner in war… only losers. For my brothers and sisters who served (and serve) their country in time of war, the experience of standing beside of you was indeed an honor.

Painting, for me, is a private war to end war, even if that war is continually fought within my mind in memories such as this. Welcome Home and continue to pray for peace throughout the world.
