My Dog, Recon
Welcome Home Tony! I use the same greeting to Vietnam Vets

Yes, my permission for my father and the 320th’s story… thank you. Not sure if you have seen this info so I thought I would send it along. I have a few other photos to email to you.

My uncle Lawrence Davison served in the South Pacific… New Guinea… U.S. Army… his ship was sunk and he spent some time in the water before rescue. That is all I know of his experience.

Dad once told me that the Commanding Officer of the 320th was told to destroy the Company records. Dad was trying to track down the records. I am not sure if ALL records are still available, as there seem to be conflicting stories as to the 320th’s role in D-Day. I will keep checking and will let you know what I learn.

I live south of Pittsburgh but would like to visit Washington in the near future. My friend has never been there. My friend gave me the greatest Christmas present last year… a Bloodhound puppy which I have named Recon… in honor of the men, Navy medics and Marines, of 1st Recon Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and the others “Doc” and Marines of Marine Recon in general. Two Marines from the 1st are among the “missing and unaccounted for”. I will send a photo of Recon. Vietnam is with me every single day. I am a POW-MIA Advocate. I support the troops now wherever they serve! And, I care about telling the complete story of those who served in wars past.

I used to stand “Vigil” at the Wall with other Vietnam Vets and supporters. My last visit there was Memorial Day 2000 when my ‘adopted’ daughter and I went for 4 days. It was great. Bathroom visits and sleeping where the only times we did not see each other but we had walkie-talkies with us always. I am not so sure I got very much sleep on that trip! But, watching over her was important.

Standing ‘Vigil” there was… important! I started in Easter, 1983. I could not go for the dedication---just was not ready. But Easter of 1983 I decided to go and met others who cared and joined with them and that was the beginning. I do what I can now to keep attention to the POW-MIA Issue. The communist Vietnamese government has the answers to our questions!

Late June? We shall see! It would be an honor and a pleasure meeting you!

Well, better send this…

Once again… Welcome Home Brother!!!!
More to come…
Bill
