CRITICISM

A word that's so popular
But not widely accepted
It can be so damaging
Without a thought or care

We all utilize this word
For whatever reasons need be
By providing it constructively
Or dishing it out destructively

Too bad, so sad, how cruel
Being on the receiving end
Of when criticism is given
By thoughtless words or deed

"Your hair is too long!" or
"Your hair is too short!
Put in waves or highlights,
Never spiked or colored blue!"

A writer never writes colorfully
Nor expresses their true needs,
Only to bring out the reader's
Wonderings of what it all means!

"Let me put in my two cents!"
Don't know why this or that
It isn't long enough or too short
Only the critic notices these things.

So, as you notice, criticism
Is not the best to give or get
'Cause it really isn't in the best
In expressing what's created!
