AT THE CLOSE OF ANOTHER SCHOOL YEAR
Time to put away the school books
Paper 'n pencils given away
Nine months of reading, writing,
Spelling and math, social studies
Science and art, P.E., media and library
The best of school for many a child
Is the lunch, recess, and vacations!
Teachers teaching each child skills
Not only all the academic ones
But many a social behavioral task
Needed to be modeled and taught
Compassionate ones, strict ones
Some are mean as the child expresses
No wonder each professional stresses!
Many play the role of surrogate parents
Disciplining 'n' providing direction
Digging deeply within, for patience;
Seeking endless relief from aggravation
None-the-less a teacher's wish is in –
Leaving examples for proper citizens
By molding the child for his or her future
