WHAT FRIGHTENED YOU SO?
What frightened you so?
What scared the deepness within?
Is it love? Is it fear? Is life too much?
Are the signs of dear love scary?
You wish to run away and close up
Did the little child inside hide the man?
Awwww, I weep for you my dear one
No longer can I console and comfort
For this is your wish, you say
You have lived through lots of hurt
You have walked very sad paths
You have been to war and back
Now the desire to be loved is great
But negativity, fear, ‘n distrust rules
Did you deadbolt the door to your heart?
Has the chain wrapped itself tightly
So that any small, smidge sign of love ‘n
Warmth and affection be thrown away?
What anxious jitters came out that day?
What did I do to terrify you so?
