Watching you dad
Pancreatitis is miserable
Pain has come for a visit
Again, and you’re uneasy
Hoping for all might that
It’s not that dreaded cancer

Your mom, sister, aunts
And other family left life
From that terrible disease
A cure you tried to find
Ahh, dad, I hate seeing you
Like this, I worry too, dad

Even being on a special diet
And no fat foods to eat
You have gotten healthier
For a short while, now, sick
Now surgery is considered
Please, let’s try to be hopeful
