MR SQUIRREL
A squirrel has come for a visit
And sat atop the chain-linked gate
He’s outside my bedroom window
And talked of things we can relate
Our stomachs rumbled for food
He fixated on my Nabisco Oreos
I wanted meat, potatoes, ‘n gravy
But he wouldn’t listen, I suppose
How dare you Mr. Squirrel!
Demanding such attention to me;
Shall a morsel or a crumb satisfy
Your round ‘n rumbling tummy?
And what about me ‘n’ my belly;
It’s roaring rather quite unsatisfied?
I’ll give a bite, if you get take out
For I’d rather be instantly gratified!
‘Oh drats!’ He took off too quickly
‘Didn’t mean to startle you, dear sir’
Guess he really didn’t want a cookie
Just shook his tail and left in a whir
