I’ve spoken
with the
creek
running quickly
over
the rocky
bottom

I’ve watched
the yellow
colors
peeking from
the
sunshiny
sky above

I’ve waded
in its
cool
watery deep
wading
up stream
north

I’ve paused
and
listened
to its
flowing sound
laughing
along with
the children

I’ve enjoyed
and
relaxed
in the
beautifulness
of
Jimmy Creek
near Meers

Author’s Note: I went to a family reunion yesterday, at Jimmy Creek, Meers, Oklahoma, and had so much fun – even waded in the creek. Even though it was cool, many kids were playing in it. It runs off a very cool spring. This is a poem I wrote of my time wading through the creek. Some information about the reunion is on the Quoetone Family Reunion Website.
