COMFORT OUR GRIEVED SOUL

Early morning birdies sang
The dawn’s greetings of the day
Dew-filled atmosphere awoke
As the fog lay heavy at bay

Our loved ones come and go
We never want to say so long
Not even in temporary ways
‘Cause they are whom we belong

The earth drank our tears
And soaked up the mourning cry
Each of us wept with grief
As the water recycled back to the sky

Come bring the comfort of heart
Heal our souls that weep
Embrace us with endearment
As we lay our loved one to sleep

In another hour, in another time
A promise laid for many
To see these that had gone on
In the future – just wait and see
