A child, an innocence removed
left the soul; escaping away
dissociated captivity approved

awaken from a chaotic night
screams riveting as echoes
in a fearful mind set in plight

Nightmare after nightmare flee
shudder among goose bumps
rippling across a little ole me

Shadowy faces, darkened eyes
haunting from a troubled past
throbbing, sobbing, deep sighs

as we fight for our humanity
like the soldiers of any war
battling against the evil enemy
