A POEM IN MY POCKET

I’ve got a poem in my pocket
It goes with me everywhere
Words of fantasy and myth
Might be with the lint in there

In the land of make believe it goes
To the seas of the big, wide earth
Sometimes it knows how I feel
And speaks of death and of birth

We could journey through time
And sail across the starry sky
So many adventures to journey
While you’re taken away on high

There are fairies and unicorns
Golden valleys with winding stream
Forests of emeralds and rubies
Shining along a sun or moonbeam

Dragonflies and bees buzzing
Birdies will sing out with cheer
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
Year round my poem stays near

I could go on and on with words
But will give you some space too
Writing and composing a rhyme
Or just a plain old poem to view
