A LADY OF CHALCEDONY CHARM
whence upon thou arrival
a much-stressed environment
struggled a lot to keep afloat
while maintaining the tenant
‘twas another year passed
a future with apprehension
debates flourished rapidly
unsure of thy comprehension
caution and walls built up
wary of this new direction
not ready to accept this gem
that’s been under inspection
a lady of chalcedony charm
brought a calming atmosphere
ready to assist one and all
teacher, staff, and children here
an appreciation for bringing
the direction we yearned for
a supportive, caring person

Author’s Note: The above poem is written for our principal at our school. She will be retiring in May, and we all have been asked to contribute a page to a booklet some are making for her. This is what I will add to it.
