A NIGHT JOURNEY

Late at night,
My heart takes flight,
To a far off place,
Away from the dark night.

I feel so safe,
So secure,
Where this place is,
I am not sure.

I know it is around,
Because I remember it so,
It is a beautiful place,
Where trees and flowers grow.

I walk without aid;
I swim without a care,
But in reality,
This joy is not there.

I wake the next morning,
Wishing I was still there,
This unknown place,
Where there is not a fear.
