THE DOVE, THE EAGLE, AND THE PEGASUS
Spreading her wings as the sun did rise,
Pegasus readies for another ride,
Walking then trotting then running to the cliff,
Reaching its edge and lifting her wings,
Wind catching her she flies in mid air,
Gliding like and eagle with the sun in its hair,
She looks below at the things Nature brought,
The green of the grass the brown of tree wood,
The river that flowed she followed its path,
Keeping a pace and not going back,
Following for miles and miles without rest,
As other passed her in this morning quest,
A dove beside her an eagle above,
Love and Strength joined the ride,
As butterflies fluttered past her below,
Delicate and beautiful in the Sun’s glow,
Smelling the air as the clouds soon gathered,
Pegasus flew but not so much faster,
As rain began to fall shimmering in her mane,
Pegasus continued as dove and eagle went their separate ways,
Pegasus flew until she came upon a peak in the horizon,
Where snow dare not fall full of light and beauty,
Pegasus landed and ended her journey,
Walking along the edge of the peak,
She soon came upon someone, who was waiting,
They came together and soon they were off,
Taking this journey together and the sun fell.
