I don’t know why it took so long
For me realize that I was wrong

I do know that it took some time
For me to come to realize that

You loved me all along

No matter what the things I said
Or what I did that made you dread

You loved me now as you did then
And I am happy that we did mend

The relationship that started at birth
Between a mother and child and a father

I love you both no matter what
I hope that you know that now

No matter what happens
