I AIN'T HOME YET!
I may have come in at the door,
Stashed my slippers on the floor,
And may have even et,
But I know I ain't home yet!
For this is just Planet Earth,
And it has real worth;
But there is another sphere,
Which is better than being here!
I read about that city above,
Where all is peace and love.
But down here they gamble and bet.
I know I ain't home yet!
This old world is in a heap of pain,
Knowing thunder, lightning, and rain.
The judges and juries are set,
But I ain't home yet!
In that bright city above,
There is a God of love,
Whose table is already set.
But I know I ain't home yet!
He has saved a place for me I know,
For Jesus tells me so.
Until such time up there we've met,
I'll keep saying, "I ain't home yet!"
But a few more weary days and then,
When I'll leave this world of sin,
Angels will come with the speed of a jet,
Then no longer can I say
I ain't home yet!
In my real home in glory,
I'll tell the sweet, sweet story,
Of how Jesus died to ransom me,
And take me home to eternity!
THEN I'll sing aloud. "I'm home! I'm home!
Home at last, no more to roam!
Home sweet home! Heaven's best.
Come dear friend, be my guest!"
