HELEN LOUISE

Good morning to Helen,
My one and only wife.
You've had surgery of heart
To add time to your life!

Tomorrow a "Pace-Maker"
You will receive
To add rhythm to your heart
And lengthen your life, Helen Louise!

Now, my wife, Helen Louise,
You must slow your pace
And smell the scented flowers,
So together we'll "walk" life's race!

Our gait must be slow,
As down to the Lake we go,
To feed the ducks and geese,
Where they, and us, know peace!

Some fifty-one years ago
We stood beside each other,
Pledged our love forever,
And have never loved another!

Today we both are older,
And somewhat bolder.
In warm weather or colder.
So lean upon my shoulder!

Tomorrow is a "Pace-Maker" day,
To stabilize your heart, if you please,
And I'll be beside you
And always love you, Helen Louise!
