AT THE LAKE TODAY

Two pair of Canadian geese
Bring little ones in peace,
To feed daily upon my shore
And return tomorrow for more.

I cannot understand how from eggs
Come little Canadians with legs,
To run and play and eat
And swim away with paddled feet.

There is a mystery of precious life
Beyond the scope of man and wife,
Who view companions of planet Earth
After mamas and papas give them birth.

It surely must be God's great plan
To invite His attention from earthly man,
Thus showing all His creative skill
From making geese to whippoorwill.

I am amazed at God's great grace
Toward all who run this human race,
And how and why He doth bestow
Upon Canadians on our lake to grow!
