THIS EARTHLY CAMEL RIDE
This sojourn here upon the Earth
Is like one step beyond tomorrow
where joys may be found at will
as well as epic pangs of sorrow.
The camel is seldom in a hurry
with lots of motion up and down
the route he takes is hot and dusty
gaining little distance on the ground.
In Bible days there were no cars
to transport men in Caravans
with four wheels by Dodge
yet came camel caravans at large.
When Abraham sent his servant
to gain a bride for his only son
he sent Eliezer with a camel band
to traverse miles of desert sand.
This journey upon our Earth
is much like that trek of old
with ‘ups and downs’ on dusty roads
heat of the day and nights so cold.
Yet those miles across the desert
led back to the Promised Land,
as will all the children of God
be led home by an angel band!
