SIGNS OF SPRING

Buds are on the trees
wherein birds begin to sing…
Winter draws her shade
These are signs of Spring…

Canadian geese upon our lake
anxiously think of taking wing…
to nesting places in the North
which they do every Spring…

Daffodils which grace the yard
and a host of other things…
Remind us one and all
of many, many springs…

A lovely shapely lass inside
and upon her finger, a ring…
who awaits her soldier love
for a wedding in the Spring…

Lovers in September’s morn
when all the lovebirds sing…
Brings visions of a baby born
sometime in the coming Spring…
