SCARS LEFT BY A FRIEND
She walked right into my life
as if from Heaven she came.
The door to my life I opened wide,
never knowing that this was a game!
Had I known that this was a game
I would have never opened the door.
My heart, I would have guarded,
never allowing it to soar!
But soar it did and took flight
to realms of skies so blue,
where angels sang so sweetly
drowning out the words by you.
I wish I had listened to the angels
and never your words to hear;
but now your words are shadows
and with their memory comes a tear!
Scars in the heart and soul
cannot ever find repair;
for upon the walls of my memory
I always find the scars are there!
