MEN LOVE DARKNESS

Men love darkness
Rather than light.
That’s the reason why
The arrest of Jesus
Was in the dark of night.

Came Judas with
Many a Jew,
And Roman soldiers,
Not a few.
Yet in darkness they came!

In darkness men still
Do the unthinkable,
And drink the poison brew
Which is undrinkable.
Yet in the darkness they come!

Nicodemus came to
Jesus one night,
To ask the way’
From Darkness
To light.

Jesus told him forthright,
A second birth
Could deliver him
From the darkness,
Into the realm of Light!

Jesus alone can
Dispel the darkness;
Can give a man
New sight,
Thus closing the shade of night!

In Jesus is no
Darkness at all.
He is The Light
Of this dark world,
Dispelling the gloom of night!

Were it not
For Jesus alone,
I’d still be in darkness,
Having no home
Where night is always known!

So, all ye men of darkness of night,
Come to the Savior,
The giver of Light,
Forsaking the blackness of night!
