IN THE SUN TODAY
The weatherman says it
Will be 72 degrees today.
This would be a good time
To hop on the bike and ride away.
Spring comes on apace
With soft winds in your face,
And two wheels on the ground,
Tuned in to a motorcycle sound.
Just ridin’ with thoughts in neutral,
The open road before you in view;
The motorcycle in overdrive,
And nothing on Earth calling you!
A few friends like Martin and Ray
Riding by your side,
And a fella’ named Giff,
Along with Terri, his bride.
Some of us have not long to ride
For time has passed us by
On that solid yellow line,
And raised our focus to the sky.
So, come and ride with me
Along the Gulf of Mexico,
While the sun is shining
And there’s nowhere else to go.
