CRY NOT FOR ME

Cry not for me
when I put out to sea
For I have lived
in the land of the free

Cry not for me
when comes the call
to depart planet Earth,
the place of my first birth

Cry not for me
you who are left behind
for in the leaving
I leave my weary mind

Cry not for me
for I have PTSD,
which I leave behind
in the land of Liberty

Cry not for me
for the ‘Mares of the Night’
can no longer
awaken me in fright

Cry not for me
for I shall never see
bones in the sand
In that ‘Other Land’

Nor shall I smell
the scent of death
from those who
have lost their breath

Cry not for me
for I shall soar
at an altitude
which knows no war

Cry not for me
and for this earthly tent
just focus on the sky
for this is the way I went

Cry not for me
for burdens I shall lose
and golden sandals I’ll have
instead of leather shoes

Cry not for me
for I walk not on paths of old
but shall walk forever
on streets of gold

Cry not for me
for I’ll have no earthly ill
and will never age again
for Heaven issues
a birthday-control pill

Cry not for me
I beg of you
for trusting Jesus
has seen me through

There are no tears
in the Eternal City above
where there is never hate
but everlasting love

So I bid you come
and join me in the air
where your tears are
ever dried up there

To all who know IWVPA
come and join me
In Heaven there to stay
just you wait and see
