ANOTHER BIRTHDAY
Sunday, October 27th
Is the birthday of my wife,
Who will celebrate
Seventy-two years of life.
A year or so ago
Her heart began to slow.
So surgery was in view
And her heart, Dr. Horowitz did renew.
Oh, dear Helen, wife o’ mine
How well you do shine,
Even when the sun is not out,
Your strength and beauty walk about!
The menial tasks you do
Each day of your life,
Like putting my socks on me
Because you are my wife.
I promised 52 years ago
To take care of you,
But most of the caring
Is now up to you.
