SPRING CLEANING
Oh how I dread spring cleaning
Those winter months have left
The dirty house heat was giving us
Ceilings with dust cleaning the rust
Windows and doors so much more
Curtains to wash blankets to sort
On knees scrubbing the floors
Cleaning the rugs with all that mud
Getting the porch ready for warmth
The deck needs repair all that snow was there
Now where’s my maid; she was coming today
I need help scrubbing the walls
I am to short she is tall
I will take a break or my back will ache
My cat doesn’t help his fur is in clumps
The yard needs attention flower beds awaiting
The leaves left behind still need racking
Oh me oh my… here I go once again
Spring cleaning will surely do me in.
