HE LIVES
I get confused about religion.
So much I don't understand.
But there's not a doubt in my mind
God has the whole world in His hands.
I think about my spiritual being
And the God we seek to find.
How my existence is only a speck
In the universe and time.
Loved ones who have passed before me.
Their face I cannot see.
But I think that's why God made the stars
So they could watch over me.
I see deep in the eyes of a child;
Its innocence and perfections.
The gift of life is a miracle.
God's greatest of creations.
I sail rough seas and am afraid
But drawn to the distant horizon.
The place where sky and water meet
Is my solitude without question.
I visualize a mountain peek
Where only Eagles dare.
That place exists within my soul
For I know that God lives there.
I see myself in a raging river
As it battles many miles
Only to find strength in the end;
A resting place for a while.
Baptist, Catholic or Church of God
Religion puzzles me.
But one thing beyond a shadow of doubt
God's everywhere to see.
And when my days on earth are done
I'll be in the heavens up above.
Spending eternity with the keeper of stars
Watching over those that I love.
