AND WHEN I LAY ME DOWN...

And when I lay me down to sleep
Those I love will scatter me.
From whence I came I will return
Amidst the deep blue sea.

Throw my ashes to the wind
Or let them sink and sleep with fish
You'll see me in a pounding surf
Or dancing at the bow of a ship.

Take pride in knowing I'm everywhere
As you let out your anchor rope.
Don't shed a tear of sadness
But cast out a line of hope.

And when you feel the need
To be touched or kissed by me.
Return once again to the ocean
And through my eyes you will see.

The strength that grew in time
As our anchor of love was secured
Will keep our souls forever alive
And comfort all our fears.

Listen to the colors of the sunset
Laying gently over everything beneath.
At times when you search for direction
It will guide you to your knees.

Draw energy from the wind.
It will show you which way to go.
Don't struggle against all nature
But learn to go with the flow.

Feel the salty spray
As it clings to your tender skin.
Know I am there kissing you
And will be without end.

'Cause when I lay me down to sleep
Those I love will scatter me.
For where I am you will return
Together we will always be.
