OUR FATHER
I woke from a dream as tears fell softly from my eyes.
Our flag was flying high, full of peace and pride.
Brother loved brother in a way that they should.
Country helped country in a way they never would.
Our Father looked peacefully over His earth.
I’m sure He felt a strong sense of worth.
To see all mankind finally coming together,
I’m sure He had waited what seemed like forever.
Never again would a child be hungry
someone always shared.
No man again would be desperately lonely,
if everyone showed they cared.
Suicide, murder, abuse and war were all
just things of the past.
We always put others first
and never noticed if we were last.
Our Father looked peacefully over His earth.
I’m sure He felt a strong sense of worth.
To see all mankind finally coming together
I’m sure He had waited what seemed like forever.
