BE MY VISION
Loneliness, oh loneliness
has knocked on my door again
I never dreamed it would be this soon
she’s gone, my sister, my friend.
Sickness came as a thief in the night
and stole her right away
I miss her every moment
of every single day.
Gone from earth forever
we do not have a choice
I think what hurts most of all
is the silence of her voice.
I’ve always been a believer
in Heaven up above
a place of everlasting life
God’s mercy and His love.
Why is it now that she is gone
do I question our destiny
how could there be a better place
than here with our family?
Oh God, Eileen! You know it’s true
the bible tells us so
but my mind is so distraught
with emptiness in my soul.
Just when I think my sorrow
has found a place of peace
I feel my heart breaking in two:
I’m weak and on my knees.
Take me to my comfort zone
where once again I can pray
help me see without a doubt
there is life beyond this day.
Be my vision dear Lord
let me see things I don’t understand
give to me peace and strength
with the touch of your almighty hand.
Amen
