OLD LIGHT BULB
How do you write a poem
of an old light bulb?
In comics they are used as ideas
in life as a light to see.
We all take them for granted
when we use electricity.
Do they have life of which
man has made?
Do they live and die?
Or are they just cast a-ways
when the filament fries?

This is an Edison carbon filament bulb. They make replicas now but if you found that when you were 12 it is most probably a real one and not a copy. The real ones hardly ever burned out and they give off a yellowish light and quite a bit of heat…

It is an old one Faye, I don’t remember the color of light as I very, very seldom put it in a lamp, and when I do it is just for a few seconds to show someone it still works.
At the bottom is some lettering and numbers inside the glass filament part. It reads Oct 10, 05 – patent date?
