FNG is what I was
made the choice for family’s peace.
Did what I thought was right for them.
I’m sorry.

Should have been where my brothers were
all died for us that I’m sure.
Why wasn’t I called to share the dirty deed
Left back home where I wouldn’t bleed?

So many who did the part time job,
live their lives with little bother.
But there were some of us called to fill the void
and with our lives they toyed.

Some would fall from shrapnel’s swell
some would return yet still live in hell.
Those of us who didn’t go
remember them all so well.
And some of us live with our own little hell.
