MY THOUGHTS ON CHRISTMAS, 2007

Every year at Christmas time
I try my very best
To put the birth of Jesus Christ
In front of all the rest!

But often times I fail
For the temptation is so great
To be materialistic,
A weakness hard to break!

But these days it’s so easy
And on top of all of that,
“Christmas” is called “Holiday”
Another troubling fact!

So in our world today
I alarmingly can see
There is a force at work
To change what used to be!

We are a Christian nation
And that’s always been a fact,
So why is God’s Son’s birthday
A subject of attack?

I don’t have all the answers
But I for one will say,
“Have a Merry, Merry Christmas,
And a Happy New Year’s Day!”
