THE PARK
In loving Memory of my Brother, Russell Garibay Beloz
Remember when we were very small
To me you always stood tall
You were my little brother
We would go everywhere together
You were always by my side
In my red wagon I would give you a ride
Cowboys and Indians we would play
Caps and Guns we would shoot all day
In the park we would meet
Until the day came to an end
And Mom would yell for us to come on in
Yes you were my little brother
How we used to laugh together
When bigger bullies would come on by
It was I that always stood by your side
The next day it would be off to school
With our books in hand
And dreams of growing up to be Firemen
Couldn't wait for school to end
In the park we would meet
With all our friends
Remember them
Paul, Donald, Darrel, Surfer
Rick, Ernie and Pewee too
Oh how they all loved you
In the park we would play
Playing with Army men
Riding our bikes
Or flying our kites
Oh what fun we would have
When life was simple
And the days were long
Staying out in the sun
Just having plain old fun!
Then the day came when we were all grown
Separate ways we would go
Now the park is all alone
Only the ghost of kids that once played
Cowboys and Indians and hide and seek
And the memories we both left behind
Of much simpler times.
I got to see you marry your high school sweetheart
Got to see you change from a boy to man
Got to see you be a father of three!
Oh how proud you have made me
You were the shinning star of our Beloz Family
Life will not be the same since you have passed
My God wanted you for his much bigger plan
My heart is filled with so much grief
My eyes are filled with tears and can no longer see
My little brother has left me!
