THE COFFEE MAKER
Today, I said my last good bye
To a very dear old friend
He was known in our group as the Coffee Maker
Afterwards, I went to for a long drive
I stopped my car and had a good cry
I felt his spirit like the wind
Passing through time
He was a gentle breeze that touched my heart
He never even knew it, but he saved my life so many times
So I closed my eyes trying to picture his face
Here is what I thought he said
“Hey there honey don’t cry for me”
Everything is just peachy where I am at
You see, I will never be too far away
So carry the memories of the coffee crew
Just for today
Stop and think about
All the good laughs we had
Making coffee for that Newcomer
Tell the newcomer the stories of who I once was
Let them know about what I have passed on to you
That life is about the good we all do
Teach them like I have taught you
Try to always find the good in people no matter what
And one day they will learn to find the good
In what they have done
Teach this to the Newcomer
Now that I am gone
When you pour that first cup of coffee in the morning
Honey remember not to cry for me
Think of all the good times we had
On the Coffee-Crew having some laughs
Carry the memories of me in your heart
And remember where I stand everything is just peachy
Because, I am walking on the sunny side of the street
Until you and I meet at our next meeting in the sky
I’ll be there waiting to pour you a cup of coffee my friend
I'll be there to welcome you in.
