MY SPECIAL PLACE…
I sit silently in my special room
With all the lights turned down low
A collection of my favorite things
Photographs, Books, Collector Toys and Rare Guitars
Not to mention every computer gadget known to man
I look at the pictures on my walls
Of family and friends and special events
Pictures of people I’ve never seen again
Somehow at one they meant so much to me
I stare at the clock sitting on my desk
As I wonder how the years slipped through me hands
When I realized my life is only passing through for a short time
I wonder if I contributed anything to the world worthwhile
My life has been far from ever being perfect
I have had many dark times in my life that I thought I would never see light
If only I had a map starting out the gate that taught me how to be wise and kind
I might not need to ask GOD to forgive me for my sins so many times
Instead I am left only with an old woman’s memories
Of dreams that never came and the ones I wished for
God gave them to some else that needed them more than me
I day dream of days when I was just a young girl
When going to see two Hollywood movies was only fifty cents
In my dream as I sit at my desk I can close my eyes and I can see my Daddy again
Driving his big flashy car with whitewall tires and chrome bumpers
Taking to buy an ice cream cone even our dog got to go
I day dream of sunny days sitting in the park in front of our family house
When I was a just a little girl holding a transistor radio so close to my ear
As I listen to the music beat to my heart and soul
As she listened to the Beatles for the first time
I always wonder why I love this special room so much
I know now it’s my very own private time machine
Of special memories that come alive after I close my eyes
As the people in the old photographs jump off the walls
To bring me back memories some good and some sad
I love my special room it holds all of my memories
It’s just a matter of time when I will turn into a Photograph
And it will be my turn to be your memory……
I only hope I made it on your WALL…………
