Bright city lights
Lonely hearts, empty nights
Life can be a walk in the park
When you carry love in your heart

But what if you are just a lonely soul
With no one special and no where to go
Bright city lights never seem to shine on you
What’s a lonely soul to do?

You take a walk in the park looking for love
Vicariously watching others love passing you by
Realizing love is but an Echo away
A faded heartbeat that lives in silence

A Voice that is mute that can not speak!

You ask yourself what is love
Unless there are bright city lights
Or someone special to share a hot summer night
So you throw a penny in the lake and make a wish

You wish for love as you watch your penny sink
Your life becomes a just small ripple in the lake
As it slowly begins to fade
Drowning your silence away

Night after night you take a walk in the park
Vicariously watching life passing you by
No time to feel sorry no need to ask why
You’ve come out of life living in the dark

Just another lonely broken heart
In city where your lights are always dim
And the side of the street you walk in
There’s no mystery why the sun never shines!

Life is a walk in the park
But for some love is but an Echo away
A familiar sound of a heartbeat
Pain only hurts from a distance

So I throw another penny in the lake
Praying my wish for love
One day will come my way
But for now I love vicariously watching you
