ROUND TWO
You mistake me for another
You think I have put you down
I can see you as you read this
With your cigarette and frown
I was talking of a journey
That together We might take
Now I see you are offended
Now that's just a big mistake
I was speaking of the picture
All the things you planned with me
Of the journey we are taking
All the things I get to see
When I spend a day without you
I am right there by your side
And I never really doubt you
Though my eyes may open wide
Did I speak of paranoia?
I ain't scared to write this poem
I am always there beside you
For it's always Welcome Home
If I meet you out in Jersey
If you meet me out in Queens
I'm the woman who adores you
That's exactly what that means
And reason for the title
Well, I won that round, WITH, you
It was such a perfect picture
I would like to draw Round Two
But the only way to draw
Is to hold tight to your hand
When we come in for a landing
You would know the right command
For you talked about a journey
That you'd like to take with me
And the minute that you said it
Well, I really like the " We"
I'm not big on paranoia, but
At times I tend to fret
If you think I had a hatchet
Well, You have my deep regret
Now before, I tend to bedtime
There's one thing I must confess
If you want to see me naked
You can come take off my dress
In the place you call your bedroom.
In the heat of Mexico
In an instant, in a second
Snap them once, and I will go
If we stay here in the city
Near the tunnel, near the bridge
When we spend those nights to together
When we walk along the ridge
And we talk of what we're feeling
For ourselves, and what we share
It's the only gift worth saving.
Can't you see how much I care?
In the cold or heat of summer
We could talk and not keep score
In summer's red hot evenings
We could walk and talk some more
On the Coast of Ipanema or
On an island, near Belize
We could dance along the shoreline
We could look out on the trees
