BREAKFAST IN BED
Breakfast in bed – taking it slow
counting the hours 'til I up and go
funny how things can change on a dime
the greatest gift has always been time
and his is given more freely these days
honest and caring – though set in his ways
I see him trying to beat back the clock
when he wakes up – I'm no longer in shock
if he is hurting or some what lost
healings expensive – but worth the cost
so I consider the con's and the pros
then there's the look – before he start's to doze
straight to the subject – straight to my heart
though I am leaving – nothing can part
what we have managed to resurrect
no second guessing – no circumspect
double entendres or messages mixed
no heart that's broken or needs to be fixed
Sometimes a plan comes together it seems
just for today I am living my dreams
