ADVICE AND CONSENT

I shall take the bait
I can hardly wait
I'm up to the crime
to spin a new rhyme

although, when I spell
I wander through hell
So pick me apart-
in fact take my heart

Expose all my flaws
for Col, I am yours
While I'm hardly done,
for now I must run.

I start work at ten
But carry a pen
To put down a poem
when I am not home

So read and correct
Advise or reject
Your muse I remain
In heart and in brain

Author’s Note: This poem is a response to the following comments made by Colin F. Jones to Robin on January 23, 2006 in the IWVPA on-line club.

"Well Robin if you were the only member here I would return in haste. I actually did read your poem... I read all your poems, even though I don't like poetry. I seldom if ever read my own once written... I promise I will do my best to pretend I am an expert on the subject of verse, and totally scythe through your work and expose all that I can find wrong with it... so set one up and I'll begin with relish immediately. <grin>

Love to you,
Col"
