THE DEPARTED
Just because you cannot see
Does not mean I’m not there
Just because I do not smile
Do not think I don’t care
Many things do not appear
Right before our eyes
In the long run, truth will out
Triumph over lies
If you learn to stay the course
Trust what’s in your heart
You can talk to those who’ve gone
Those who must depart
And move on to higher planes
Unseen by earthbound
If you listen carefully
We can still be found
In the morning when you wake
Or when you’re asleep
You can learn to read the signs
So try not to weep
Just lie still and think a bit
Perhaps you will hear
Like a rustle in the wind
That means I am near
Sometimes we appear at length
Vivid like the sun
Sometimes we are gone to quick
But we are not done
