STAR GAZING

I stand gazing at the star
ponder, wonder where you are
Are you standing somewhere too?
Or perhaps you’re sleeping through

Evening stars give rise for hope
Morning offers strength to cope
On the wind a cosmic hug
strong enough to make me shrug

Brush off thoughts of bad behavior
Who’d have thought I’d find my savior
In the words of other folk
It must be some cosmic joke

Stars that dot a Full Moon sky
don’t compare… I cannot lie
Many men have offered me
Suns and moons – but nothing’s free

Thanks – no thanks – I’ve made my choice
In the end it is your voice
and the look that’s in your eye
better than a star filled sky

It’s yours words that make me smile
Some men are just born with style
Arch a brow… and I feel better
head to toe with every letter

Every word and gesture too
Stars cannot compare to you
It’s a lofty Universe
still I hunger for your verse

Suns and moons and stars up high
offers that are slick and sly
I will leave for reckless youth
and wait for you – you are my truth.
