- The "Bronze Helmet" Award is to recognize an individual work and the talent of the author.
- The following are the criteria for eligibility for the award:

- The IWVPA webmaster is to review the works published on the IWVPA site and make a decision as to the winner based on the writing, not the author. In this regard, it may be possible for the same author to receive the award on consecutive months.
- The IWVPA Webmaster shall have full and final responsibility for deciding the recipient of the Award.
- The webmaster will make the appropriate additions to the website and is responsible for advising the recipient of the award. The notification email shall include:
- A request that the graphic be placed on the author's site or his/her preferred site with a link back to IWVPA, if the author indeed has a site or preferred site. The preferred site must include the work of the author for which the award has been made. (The inclusion of the graphic and the link to IWVPA on the author's site or his/her preferred site is NOT a prerequisite of the presentation of the award.)
- The URL of the page created on the IWVPA site that displays the award winning work
